A Passion for Equality

Shirley Taylor, along with her husband, Don Taylor, founded bWe Baptist
Women for Equality in 2009. Shirley is a life-long Baptist and has been
committed to promoting equality for women for over ten years. She is a
former 14 1/2 year employee of Baptist General Convention of Texas.

Education through scripture

Who is bWe Baptist Women for Equality?

Because these long-held traditions are powerful and meaningful to
everyone in the church, we know that it will be hard for some to accept
women equally. Through this website, we will show you how to talk with
your pastor, and we will explain difficult scriptures, using easy to
understand language, and principles.

Our Goal

We are working for Southern Baptists to accept women equally in church.
To allow women to be deacons, and to preach from the pulpit in their
hometowns. We are encouraged by those Baptist believers who support
equality for women, and who allow women in the pulpit and in church
service as deacons.
